Indoor Newborn Portraits with Navy Mae

Candid baby portraits as part of Your Baby’s First Year photography bundles

Candid in-home baby photography is one of my favourite things. These in-home baby sessions generally happen as part of Your Baby’s First Year sessions, especially during the colder months of the year. As the snow creeps farther and farther down the mountains, portrait sessions are shifted from the outdoors to the indoors.

What is an in-home baby photography session like?

They are comfortable, warm, and completely you. There is nothing more personal than portraits with your baby in your own home. In-home baby portraits let you relax in your own space. They are also nice for newborn photography because you don’t have to go anywhere. Always a bonus.

I’m worried that my home isn’t nice enough for indoor baby portraits …

So is everybody who has ever done an indoor baby portrait session. This question is asked almost every time. Life gets derailed after a new baby enters the picture, but that doesn’t mean your home won’t work for portraits. All you have to do is de-clutter one or two spaces — as little or as much as you would like — and wear something that makes you feel like your best self. Once I get to your home, I will move a few things if necessary. If there is anything that I think we should move I will let you know and help you with it. Lived-in and comfortable homes photograph very well because they tell your story and represent this phase of your life.
