Happy First Birthday, Emma
We all celebrated Baby Emma’s one-year-old birthday with photography in their backyard garden in Golden BC. Her family had portraits taken as part of her Baby Photography Plan.
I first photographed Emma when she was a six-day-old newborn and then again at one year old. In that year between photography sessions, Emma has been on non-stop adventures. Baby Emma and her family made the most of Mom’s maternity leave by camping and traveling as much as possible around British-Columbia.
All of their portrait sessions and appointments had to be scheduled in between adventures. Each time we got together, they had new stories and new hiking recommendations to share.
Baby Photography In The Garden
We planned a candid and casual photography experience because that is what suits them all best. Emma and her sister spent the time playing with bubbles, riding in the wagon, and singing songs. Letting kids play and be themselves is my favourite way to capture great candid portraits. While the sisters did their thing, us adults brought each other up to speed about the past year. This is one of those families that welcomes you in and that you feel comfortable around. They made my job as their Photographer too easy. One of my favourite things about this family is that even though they were all awake the whole night before with Emma, they rolled with everything and kept their photography session planned as usual.
This family really rolls with whatever the day brings them. Their relaxed and open parenting style really reflects in their daughter’s personalities. I can see their close and considerate character in their one-year-old baby portraits.
I have loved getting to know this family and watching Emma grow from a newborn to a one year old. Their laid-back attitudes, the strong girls they are raising, and how family oriented they are are very admirable. Thank-you again for having me take do your family photography this year ♥︎
