Truly, there is nothing better than a Canmore family photography session in the Fall. Every day I recognize how spoiled I am to work here and to have such lovely clients. The mountains, the lakes, the forests... there is a reason that families visit from all over the world and I am so thankful for the opportunity to work together. Many of my family photography clients are on their dream vacation here in the Rocky Mountains and I love to help them document that.
As always, we met at a beautiful location and focused on creating candid family photos. Compared to my Banff sessions, Canmore is a more quiet destination. We spent a warm Summer afternoon at Quarry Lake, swapping stories, cheering the girls on during their longest handstand competition, and enjoying the views.
Overall, my advice for family photography sessions is always the same — think of it more as spending time with your family doing an activity that you love, rather than a photo session. With this mindset change, we are guaranteed to naturally bring out those loving family interactions. When people feel like they can be themselves, that is where the magic happens. When everyone feels comfortable, we easily create those perfectly candid photos. We all want photos that capture the personality of the people we love most and that is always my goal for your session.
