This family was looking for a maternity photographer in Canmore that would help them create authentic and candid pregnancy photos.
They shared with me that it was important to them to document this part of their life in a candid and beautiful way so they could look back on these photos in years to come.
We drove out to Wedge Pond in Canmore Kananaskis at sunset to create their beautiful mountain maternity photos.
B + A are such warm and open people, they are going to be great parents to their upcoming little babe.
Maternity Photographer in Canmore
We originally met on Instagram before I got to be their maternity photographer in Canmore. I don't know if meeting someone online before in person is an experience I will get used to, but I am glad that it happened. Barbara and her family are such thoughtful and genuine people. We spent the evening chatting about our dogs, the mountains, tattoos, and life.
I knew they wanted a great mountain view for their maternity photos, so I chose Wedge Pond in the Kananaskis area for them. There was a little bit of smoke in the air, which gave the mountains a beautiful layered appearance and warm glow. If there is one silver lining to wildfire season, it's that it adds a really interesting look to the mountain landscape.
The original plan for their photo session was to celebrate their pups. As their furry friends got older, they wanted to have nice pictures to look back on. A few months later when it came time for our photo session, they shared with me that they were actually expecting! So we decided to celebrate their original dog babies as well as their upcoming human baby.
I hope that these photos become a special family heirloom for B + A. It is interesting how much life changes in just a few months. I love that they chose to document this life transition with a maternity photography session. From dog parents to human parents, I know they will do a great job.
