Maternity Photography at The Eco Ranch in Golden BC
For the Pederson's maternity photography session, we met at The Golden Eco Adventure Ranch. This is one of my favourite photography locations, just ten minutes south of Golden BC.
I was good friends with the father back in high school and it was really great to reconnect. We chatted easily and updated each other on everything, as if ten years hadn't gone by. It was nice to see an old friend again and meet his family during their maternity photography session.
I think that a maternity photography session is a beautiful way to honour the end of a chapter. For this family, that meant photographing their final few weeks together before becoming a family of four. We spent the evening watching their son play with sticks, enjoying the view of the Rocky Mountains, and catching up on life. We chatted about how excited they were for their second baby to arrive and how cool it is to watch your first baby become a sibling.
Like usual, this maternity photography session had a very casual feeling. During our photos, I always try to create a comfortable environment so that the real you can come out. My approach is always to get you started with a little direction, and then to let your natural family dynamics take over. This is how we create those beautifully candid portraits we all love.
