Revelstoke Newborn Photography

I am excited to share this Revelstoke newborn photography session from last Summer with you! Everything about this newborn session was so lovely, these parents were so in love and easy going, they made my job too easy.

We decided to do their newborn photography session in their beautiful home in Revelstoke and that I would travel over from Golden.

Anyone who is familiar with this area knows that a drive through Rogers Pass is either beautiful or an adventure. On this particular day, the mountain pass chose severe thunderstorm as its mood.

Luckily though, the worst of the storm waited to hit until I was already at their home and we were already happily ahh-ing and coo-ing over their adorable new son, Malcolm.

Revelstoke Newborn Photography

To start off any photo session, I always spend a little bit of time connecting with everyone. Usually a family will show me around their home so that we can pick out the best locations for their photos. Most of the time, we settle on either the living room, the main bedroom, or the nursery if it is finished. This family told me that they spend a lot of time in the living room together with their baby, so that is where we began for their newborn photography session.

Eventually we moved up to their nursery and then the storm cleared enough to head outside to finish off their newborn photography session. Since your home tends to change along with you and your family, I find that these in-home photos become so meaningful. I know that when everyone is older and they look back on these newborn photos, they will see their beautiful selves and how much they have grown over the years.
